OneAutomateCoordinate secure workflows across on-premises and cloud systems.
In developmentOneAutomate is a developing platform for coordinating approved tasks across customer-hosted systems and cloud environments. A central cloud control plane schedules and monitors workflows, while outbound Windows agents carry out only approved local operations.
OneAutomate is in development. This page describes the current design and planned direction rather than a general-availability release.
Multi-step procedures shouldn't depend on checklists and hand-offs.
Operational procedures such as refreshing a test environment often span local servers, UniData/UniVerse routines and Azure resources.
Today they may rely on manual checklists, remote desktop sessions, scripts and human hand-offs between each dependent stage. OneAutomate is being designed to sequence that work with dependencies, approvals, monitoring and audit.
What OneAutomate does.
In the current prototype
- Organisations, sites and users
- Agent lifecycle management
- Multi-factor authentication
- Alerts and scheduling
- Secure agent foundations
- Initial commands: directory listing, controlled file copy and approved program execution
Example uses it is designed for
- Test environment refresh
- UniData/UniVerse setup routines
- File copies and approved program runs
- Azure SQL refresh
- Azure Web App reconfiguration
- Repeatable support runbooks
Planned direction
- UniData execution as a command family.
- Cloud-side task families such as Azure SQL refresh and Web App reconfiguration.
- Managed multi-organisation operation and repeatable support runbooks.
Capabilities are confirmed release by release. Talk to us about which features are available in the version being discussed.
A central control plane with controlled local agents.
This describes the current design. Details may change as development continues.
Define
The central Azure-hosted control plane holds identity, schedules, automation definitions, dependencies, approvals, audit and monitoring.
Connect
Outbound-only Windows agents at your sites communicate with a dedicated agent gateway over HTTPS with mutual TLS.
Protect
Agents keep local credentials encrypted and only advertise non-secret target and capability information.
Run
Commands are predefined, versioned and locally constrained. There is no arbitrary remote shell.
Sequence
Steps can depend on prior success, run on a schedule or on demand, and high-risk work can require independent approval.
Where it runs and what it connects to.
We install, configure and support OneAutomate as part of your wider system landscape, and shape each deployment around the systems you already use.
| Area | Detail |
|---|---|
| Status | In development; the current release is an administration and stabilisation baseline, not a production-certified release. |
| Deployment | Central Azure-hosted control plane with local Windows agents at your sites. |
| Local targets | Agents can advertise local targets such as UniData accounts. |
| Cloud | The central platform is designed to coordinate cloud-side tasks. |
Orchestration, not remote control.
OneAutomate is not remote-control software. It runs a controlled catalogue of approved tasks, in the right order, across environments.
OneConnect is event-driven: incoming data triggers one controlled ERP process. OneAutomate coordinates multi-stage work, for example a local data copy, a UniData setup routine, an Azure SQL refresh and a Web App configuration step, each depending on the last.
