Data Migration

MOVE YOUR DATA.
KEEP YOUR CONFIDENCE.

Validated, reconciled migration from your legacy ERP, accounting package and spreadsheets, so your team goes live with accurate records and confidence in the numbers.

A hand transfers a frosted data token between organised trays, illustrating careful data movement.
01 / Why it matters

A new system is only as good as the data in it.

Moving to NetSuite often means bringing data together from several places: an ageing ERP, an accounting package, spreadsheets and knowledge held in people's heads.

If that data arrives incomplete or inconsistent, trust in the new system suffers from day one. We treat data migration as a core part of implementation, with validation for accuracy and continuity built in, rather than a last-minute import.

We've moved customers from legacy green-screen ERP, QuickBooks and Google Sheets into NetSuite.

What we typically migrate

  • Customers, suppliers and contacts
  • Items, BOMs and routings
  • Opening stock, including lots, serials and bins
  • Open transactions and balances
  • Fixed-asset registers and supplier price breaks
02 / How it works

Planned, tested and reconciled.

01

Scope

Agree what moves, from where, and how much history you need.

02

Cleanse

Review source data with your team and resolve gaps and duplicates.

03

Map

Map source fields to your new NetSuite design.

04

Load & validate

Trial loads, with migrated records cross-checked against source data and exceptions flagged.

05

Reconcile & go live

Final load and sign-off before a controlled go-live.

Our template-validation workflow helps identify data issues before import, with consultant review and customer approval. It complements trial loads and reconciliation; it does not verify a live NetSuite account. More about AI in our delivery.

Clear ownership from the first extract to sign-off.

Web Control

We plan the sequence and dependencies, provide the agreed templates and mapping guidance, execute or supervise scoped imports, investigate import failures and support reconciliation with technical results and record counts.

Your team

Your data owners approve meaning, accuracy, completeness and inclusion rules. Your migration lead coordinates extracts and corrected files; finance approves opening balances, AR/AP and financial control totals.

The Statement of Work defines data sets, history and import iterations. Additional extraction, large-scale cleansing, restructuring, attachments or archive migration are agreed separately. Sensitive files are exchanged through the agreed secure project location, with versions, approvals and accepted exceptions recorded.

Rehearse the migration before the final cutover.

Sample and prepare

Agree ownership, templates and stable reference keys, then use representative records to check mapping and business scenarios early.

Train and rehearse

Load agreed data for sandbox training and UAT. Trial go-live files test dependencies, load order, cut-off timing and reconciliation.

Approve and cut over

Submit approved final or delta files after the agreed cut-off. Execute the planned imports, reconcile counts and control totals, and record business sign-off.

Find template issues before the NetSuite import.

Web Control’s NetSuite Data Validators are a Claude Cowork plugin designed to check completed project templates, guide approved corrections and prepare CSV files for import review.

Check the data

Validate mandatory fields, formats, dates, list values, duplicates, parent-child links and template-specific rules. Supplied reference workbooks allow checks between related data sets.

Resolve issues with ownership

Separate errors from items needing review. Mechanical fixes require approval; suggested changes and business questions go back to the relevant owner. Missing reference information is identified for confirmation.

Keep the evidence

Produce a validation report, versioned corrected workbook, change log, checklist and submission note, with CSV files numbered in load order. The original upload remains unchanged.

The September 2026 guide describes coverage for 47 Web Control templates, from setup and master data through manufacturing, opening balances and open transactions. That release is a project pilot, tested against templates and test files, with suitability confirmed for each engagement.

The validator does not connect to or write to NetSuite. Account-only values need supplied reference lists, and prepared files still require review, import validation and reconciliation. Customer data owners retain responsibility for accuracy and approval.
