Data & knowledge

OneADETransform UniData and UniVerse data into structured SQL datasets.

Available / supported

OneADE, short for Advanced Data Extraction, helps you transform UniData and UniVerse ERP data into Microsoft SQL Server datasets. Your users select files, fields and relationships, and OneADE handles the MultiValue transformation for reporting and analytics.

01 / The problem it solves

Reporting tools speak SQL. Your ERP speaks MultiValue.

Reporting and analytics tools work naturally with relational SQL data, while MultiValue ERP data can contain attributes and relationships that are difficult to flatten cleanly.

Bespoke exports also create an ongoing dependency on IT for every new report. OneADE puts selection in the hands of trained users and produces SQL datasets that tools like Power BI can use directly.

02 / Capabilities

What OneADE does.

Key capabilities

  • Self-service file and field selection
  • MultiValue flattening or linked sub-tables
  • Relationship mapping between source files
  • Adaptive SQL schema generation based on actual data values
  • Windows import application for controlled one-off imports
  • Automated batch processing service

Common uses

  • SQL reporting databases for Avante and InfoFlo
  • Power BI and analytics feeds
  • Azure SQL reporting targets
  • Reducing reporting load on the ERP system
  • Reusable datasets for management reports
  • Structured data for downstream systems

Can be adapted: Other UniData/UniVerse systems are suitable with configuration. Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL are the standard targets; other SQL databases can be considered on request with development and testing.

03 / How it works

From MultiValue files to relational SQL.

01

Select

Trained users choose source files, fields and relationships on UniData/UniVerse configuration screens.

02

Transform

MultiValue attributes are flattened or represented as related SQL sub-tables.

03

Size

Schema sizing analyses actual data values each run, because dictionary lengths may not reflect real content.

04

Load

A Windows import application handles controlled one-off imports; a Windows Service processes complete batches automatically.

05

Report

Data lands in Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL, ready for Power BI, SSRS or other analytics.

04 / Deployment & integration

Where it runs and what it connects to.

We install, configure and support OneADE as part of your wider system landscape, and shape each deployment around the systems you already use.

05 / How it fits

The heart of our reporting modernisation story.

UniData or UniVerse, through OneADE, into SQL Server or Azure SQL, then on to Power BI, SSRS or other analytics. Reporting moves off the production ERP and onto a dataset designed for it.

Where exported data needs to reach Azure Blob Storage instead of, or as well as, SQL, OneUpload can provide that hand-off.
