OneBin uses an loT solution depending on your requirements to automate your stick movement from your bin locations. Whether that is issuing to a work order or moving stock, OneBin will fully automate this and update your system.
In our experience very few companies trust their computer stock figures. They run MRP and then someone checks the recommendations prior to manually raising a purchase order. Shortages become a significant problem. At worst they halt production at best they involve complex systems and shortage reports. To reduce the risk of halting production companies may overstock tying up cash and space and risking obsolescence. Regular stock taking is required to correct the figures which immediately start to go wrong once the stock take is finished.
Does this sound familiar ? It certainly is very costly requiring an high level of expensive human time, is prone to human error and corrupts all the other systems that use stock figures.
With OneBin you have RFID readers on the Bin Locations. For expensive parts you have smart labels on the parts. When stock is put into the Bin the RFID picks up the supplier, purchase order, quantity, price, serial/lot numbers etc updating the computer system automatically. Stock can only be taken out by employees who has authorisation to pick stock for a particular job. In terms of low cost min/max stock, when the stock drops below a designated level the RFID instructs the supplier to replenish the stock. At all times the Bin Location maintains exact stock levels and is the only place it is recorded. All other systems reference this data when required.
